WITH A CONSISTENT TEAM AND A RAPIDLY EXPANDING BUSINESS, J. C. RIBEIRO MOVED ITS FACILITIES TO ITS OWN SPACE IN 1993, LEAVING THE OLD SPACE WHERE IT OPERATED, AND BUILDING A NEW FACTORY, WHICH INCREASED ITS RESPONSE CAPACITY AND OPTIMIZED ITS PRODUCTION PROCESSES.

AS A RESULT OF THE RAPID GROWTH IN THE NUMBER OF CONTACTS AND THE CONSEQUENT INCREASE IN EXPORTS OF CORK CAPSULES TO THE BRITISH MARKET, J. C. RIBEIRO DECIDED TO ESTABLISH A DIRECT PRESENCE IN THIS MARKET TO ENSURE A MORE EFFICIENT RESPONSE TO ITS CUSTOMERS.

THIRTY-TWO YEARS AFTER ITS FOUNDING, J. C. RIBEIRO REACHES 100 MILLION CORKS SOLD IN A SINGLE YEAR. THIS MILESTONE REFLECTS THE TRUST AND PREFERENCE OF ITS CUSTOMERS, EARNED THROUGH MANY YEARS OF DEDICATION AND THE QUALITY WITH WHICH EACH OF ITS PRODUCTS IS DEVELOPED.
THE PRESENT
New Factory
J. C. RIBEIRO HAS MADE A SIGNIFICANT INVESTMENT IN A NEW MANUFACTURING FACILITY, INCLUDING THE INSTALLATION OF A PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM. BY INVESTING IN RENEWABLE ENERGY, THE COMPANY AIMS TO REDUCE ITS CARBON FOOTPRINT. ADDITIONALLY, IT IS SEEKING ALTERNATIVE MATERIALS TO POLYSTYRENE. BEYOND IMPROVING THE EFFICIENCY OF THE PRODUCTION PROCESS, THE GOAL FOR THE NEXT DECADE IS TO FURTHER INCREASE PRODUCTION VOLUME AND ENTER NEW MARKETS.

KEEPERS OF THE QUAICH
LUÍS MANUEL RIBEIRO RECEIVES THE KEEPERS OF THE QUAICH AWARD IN RECOGNITION OF HIS INVALUABLE CONTRIBUTION TO THE SCOTCH WHISKY INDUSTRY. THE FOUNDER OF J. C. RIBEIRO IS THE ONLY FIGURE IN THE NATIONAL CORK INDUSTRY TO BE HONORED BY THIS EXCLUSIVE SOCIETY.

The Beginning
J. C. RIBEIRO WAS FOUNDED IN 1987 BY LUÍS MANUEL RIBEIRO, WHOSE EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE IN THE CORK INDUSTRY ENABLED HIM TO CREATE A COMPANY THAT MET THE MOST DEMANDING REQUIREMENTS OF THE PREMIUM SPIRITS MARKET. THE COMPANY’S NAME HONORS HIS SON, JOSÉ CARLOS RIBEIRO, WHO HAS WORKED WITH HIS FATHER FROM THE BEGINNING.
SOON AFTER ENTERING THE MARKET, J. C. RIBEIRO BECAME A BENCHMARK AS A SUPPLIER OF HIGH-QUALITY CORK CAPSULES, BEING SELECTED BY THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS WHISKY DISTILLERIES IN SCOTLAND AND IRELAND AS THEIR PREFERRED SUPPLIER, AND CONTINUING TO BE THEIR CURRENT CHOICE.
SHORTLY THEREAFTER, IN 1992, J. C. RIBEIRO BEGAN EXPORTING TO THE UNITED STATES.
